Q11 Additional comments – Strengths and areas for improvement.

  • She is always available to talk to. She does teach the material where I understand the content.

  •  Very informative and wants each student to understand the material.

  • She is very good at making students feel comfortable. We discuss problems frequently, and she does her best not to move on to new material until everyone in the class understands what has previously been taught.

  • Cooperative.

  • It might help students to use different teaching methods, since everyone learns in a different way, especially in subjects such as mathematics.

  • Communicative.

  • Explains concepts step by step so we are able to understand them better, always wanting to help.

  • Very knowledgeable and provides lots of examples, and worksheets to help students understand.

  • Keep doing what you are doing teaching wise as it really improves students understanding of this difficult material. Love Dr Pannu.

  • When teaching a lot of students have not yet realized that this is college not high school and even then some are used to teachers that take it easy on them so many people are used to just knowing the information for the test and then forgetting it afterwards, but in your class we had to know the material and I get it now I didn't in the beginning but now I do. So keep teaching the way you do.

  • Well Spoken.

  • She has a strong knowledge of the subject she is teaching.

  • Let us work with other students so we could help each other learn the information for the course, which I greatly appreciated.

  • Very strong headed and clear. Gave student's the opportunity to do the work themselves to make sure we were learning and not just attending class.

  • She would go over worksheets and give reviews to help with test.

  • Works with students schedules, very understanding, had class discussions, gives plenty of practice problems for each chapter, and she was willing to explain things if we don't understand how she got the answer, gave test reviews.

  • The material was so much easier to understand when Professor Pannu would work through the problems with us. I also liked it when she explained the steps in each problem and how she got to the answer.

  • She is a very smart woman who will help you as long as you ask her.

  • Encourages hands-on experience and class discussion to better understand subjects.

  • The class was a bit difficult for me, math is not my strong area. However, I actually caught on pretty well during this class. I really appreciated that you allowed us to work together, working in groups or with a partner helped me to better understand the problems that confused me.

  • Professor Pannu is an excellent instructor. Most would say she's strict but I believe it's for the best.

  • Passionate about the subject she teaches.

  • She cares and wants to be sure that the students understand. I don't know what grade I will get, but I know she is a good teacher.

  • She obviously has a great deal of knowledge over the subject matter.

  • Dr. Pannu is clearly well educated in statistics. She moves quickly sometimes but that's because she understands the material very thoroughly. She provides the slides for her lectures on blackboard and goes over the exam answer key with us after the exam so we can see the correct answers for questions we missed.

  • She tried to help us learn in the ways that were best for us.

  • She is very knowledgeable of the work, and very passionate about it. She gives examples, allows us to work together, and also work our problems on the board to help with peers teaching peers. Her worksheets are VERY useful.

  • Very good at forcing the students to engage & participate in class!!

  • Very sweet and kind professor. Presented examples of all problems during class and the worksheets handed out as well as the homework online assigned strengthen our skills. I understand the material 100% better than when I started. I was very afraid of this course, but now overall love stats. Super fast turn around on test grades and posting them on blackboard. That was highly appreciated.

  • Very good at explaining the subjects to the students, and giving one on one help.

  • I felt the subjects were taught very clear and understood almost everything from her first explanations.

  • She wanted us to work together and teach each other the material.

  • Passion for the course.

  • It took a while but when I actually went home and studied the notes I understood what you were talking about.

  • Knows the subject.

  • Strong talker. goes over until she gets tired of going over it.

  • Dr. Pannu pushes hard to lecture the class and willing to help you to learn what you need to know. I'm proud to take her a my mentor of math because she helps me a lot of ways.

  • Knows her stuff when it comes to Statistics.

  • Nice and helpful.

  • Very thorough.

  • She explains the material well and helps us when we have questions.

  • The course itself is hard, and students don't typically respond well to difficult courses. Naturally when faced with a difficult course, it's easy to blame the instructor, but Ms. Pannu is a fabulous instructor, and I want to make sure people's personal feelings of statistics, doesn't cause them to speak badly about the instructor.
